Friday Notes

Parents: For the period before progress reports, I will be sending home reports on Fridays. If your child finished all their homework, they will receive a ticket saying so. If they have missing assignments, they will receive a note telling how many assignments they had missing for the week. The bottom is to be signed and returned on the first day back to school, usually Monday. If they do not return it, they will earn demerits.

I will also be giving lunch detention to those who do not complete their work. They will miss the first 10 minutes of lunch. If this does not solve the work habits problem, they will get their lunch and eat in my room, missing all of lunch.

Being this strict is not generally in my nature. However, the change in work habits from 1st to 2nd Trimester saddened me. Also, there are students who need to get off of Academic Probation. Missing work is the ONLY reason for an F in my classes. So hopefully, together, we can fix this problem.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parents of 7^th Grade Students:

Tuesday March 9^th, Wednesday March 10^th and Thursday March 11^th are parent conference days. We will be meeting in the Cafeteria on each of those days from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. All 7^th grade teachers will be present and available to meet. We are asking that only parents of students who are on Academic Probation and in danger of retention attend these meetings. If your student received higher than a 2.5 GPA on this report card and is in no danger of failing there is no need to meet with you unless you have some very specific questions for one of the teachers. If your student received less than a 2.5 GPA on the report card and/or has been placed on academic probation, they are in danger of being retained. We ask that you attend one of the three meeting days to discuss strategies for helping your student be more successful in their schoolwork.

Parent Teacher Conferences

We will be having 3 minimum days for Parent Teacher Conferences next week. I will only need to meet with you if your child is earning a D or F, or if there are any major concerns. As soon as the school gives me the schedule, I will let you know. It will be first come, first served in the cafeteria as the first conferences were.

Sorry about not posting last week. The only work was on Tuesday. Science was 9.2 vocab and lesson review 1-5 (due Thurs). Pre-Algebra was the workbook pg 89 (1-10).
